L’Incompréhensible

L’incompréhensible proposes a visual journey through a collection of photographs of Andrea Romero's trip to New York, capturing the futility of navigating through big cities.

Using silkscreen and experimental finishes, the artist alters perception and the urban landscape, reflecting in the image the melancholy of aimless wandering, reminiscent of the Parisian flâneur. Andrea's photography captures the streets of New York with its shades of light and shadow, allowing us to discover in them a spatial and emotional liminality. This artist's book celebrates the incomprehensible and those things that, without any logic and without being fully deciphered, generate intimacy; it reveals the subjectivity of the city, which mutates in front of the observer as it is traversed.

L’incompréhensible is the first publication by Roga Ediciones, so we can trace the interest of both the publisher and the artist in opening up new visual narratives through the combination of aesthetic and material elements.
