Secrets and Lies by Ian Kittredge is a transgressive work that combines fiction and autobiography to explore the hidden truths and secrets of the human condition. Inspired by 1960s comics, punk flyers, and his own childhood art, Kittredge creates a visual collage that intertwines chaotic scenes of urban life in New York with family memories and dreamlike monsters. Through raw and satirical strokes, the work denounces violence, sexual exploitation, and objectification while questioning the perversions of power and the complexities of inhabiting the world. With a bold aesthetic and self-destructive characters, Secrets and Lies confronts us with the darkest shadows of existence.
